Professional Info

I have been involved in the rigorous fashion course study under the tutelage of experienced members of the fashion and costume community. During this time I have been trained and gained extensive knowledge in the areas of garment construction, pattern making, draping, sewing, illustration, computer aided design, and graphic design. I was the 2002 recipient of the Karin Shier Memorial Scholarship. I was also chosen to represent the college in the International Gen Arts Competition. In 2010 I was chosen as an HATCH Emerging Designer and in 2012, I was an Emerging Designer at PLITZS New York Fashion Week. I have been featured in Scene Magazine, WNC Magazine, Our State Magazine and The Mountain Express. I created period costumes for photoshoots for Verve Magazine in the February 2013 and 20014 issues. My designs were recently was featured in Vintage New York City Magazine I participated in, A Costume Drama Fashion Show Fundraiser for the Asheville Community Theatre in 2012 and 2013 and my designs were chosen for the events advertisements. In the past I have worked as a graphic designer and an assistant merchandiser for a women's and children's pajama company. I am currently a freelance designer and also working on my fashion line, Provocation by Kristina Benshoff.
